BOARD MEMBERS:
Rev.
James G. McHaffie – Chairman – Springfield, Missouri
Rev. McHaffie has served as Director of World Missions for the Southern
Missouri District Council of the Assemblies of God since January 1996.
The Southern Missouri District responsibilities include 380 churches and
1300 ministers.
An ordained minister of the Assemblies of God and a graduate of Central
Bible College, Reverend McHaffie served as pastor of churches in Alabama
and Missouri. In Missouri, he was pastor of Full Gospel Assembly of God
in Patterson (1977-93) and Western Hills Assembly of God in Jefferson City
(1993-96). As pastor, he led those churches to a high awareness of
missions and ministries to men and boys. He served as a member of the
District Missions Committee from 1978-95 and was appointed to serve as the
World Missions Director in December 1995.
During his tenure, world missions giving for the district has increased
from $4.7 million to $9.8 million per year and home missions giving from
$2.57 to $5.3 million per year. The number of missionaries increased from
91 to 138. These missionaries are located in 35 nations and the USA.
Rev. McHaffie has been a friend and supporter of Gary & Glenna Flokstra
for 17 years, first as a pastor of a church who supported the Flokstra’s
ministry during their missions’ assignments and then as the district
missions Director in various dimensions.
Alvin Hopkins – Treasurer – Willard, Missouri
Al received his
Bachelor's degree in Church Ministries from Southwestern Assemblies of God
College (now Southwestern Assemblies of God University) in 1993, a Diploma
in Bible Studies from Pentecostal Bible College (now Messenger College),
and several additional units in Business from American River College. Over
the years, Al has served in numerous staff positions and/or on
the Board of each church that he has been a member of and especially
enjoys teaching Adult Bible studies.
Al and his wife Geneva
currently reside in Willard, Missouri. They have two children; a daughter
who resides in Tennessee and a son, his wife, and two children who reside
in Kansas. When not visiting their children and grandchildren, Al and
Geneva enjoy traveling in their RV.
After a thirty-five
year career in the retail grocery industry, Al retired. Retirement was
short lived, however, as Al soon found himself working at Africa Library
Services under the direction and administration of Gary & Glenna Flokstra.
From Gary & Glenna, he caught the vision they saw for 4WRD and is
excited about being able to play a part in this ministry.
Dana
Cavallaro – Secretary – Virginia Beach, Virginia
Dana received her B.A. from Evangel College in Springfield, Missouri and
her M.Div. from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts. She
has been credentialed with the Assemblies of God since 1983. She has spent
time on the mission field, as well as worked in the local church.
Dana has been married to Dan Cavallaro since 1983, and they have two sons,
Robbie 11, and Nathan 7. The family resides in Virginia Beach, VA
enjoying the water and warm summers.
During her spare time, Dana is a dynamic conference and retreat speaker.
She worked as Associate Pastor for 11 years before taking on the roll of
full time motherhood and home schoolteacher. And of course her claim to
fame is that she met Gary and Glenna Flokstra in 1980 while serving on a
mission’s assignment to Continental Bible College in Brussels, Belgium.
Little did she know that their paths would criss- cross around the world
and they would work together again. She and Dan believe that God has
blessed Gary and Glenna with a dream to impact the world with the
resources necessary to transform lives for Jesus Christ. They feel
privileged to be a part of this great opportunity.
